This is what can happen when a few people get together with a goal in mind.
This is a story about a group of people who turned a piece of waste land into a community allotment.
Now in its second year the group found help in the form of money and people. They cleared the site, put up poly-tunnels, built a shed and a bar-b-q. They were given a swarm of bees so they could start a bee hive.
Every Sunday they get together, learn about things such as sowing seeds, making compost or how to rotate your crops. They then get their fingers dirty by digging and weeding. When all the work is done they sit down for a cup of tea and a catch up. The produce is shared out between the workers.
Children get involved and learn how to grow and eat healthy food.
